We were founded in 1835. That foundation was the result of a split from our parent church over the subject of slavery.
We have raised many ministers and missionaries in our church. Some have gone on to serve in leadership in ABC and our most notable missionary was Charma Moore who was martyred in the Phillipines.
We have been very fortunate in the pastors that have served us. Our last 3 pastors have been George Kimsey who served from 1973 to 1985, D. Scott Johnston who served from 1986 to 2009, and our current pastor, Howard Thompson who has served since 2011 and intends to retire 6/2024.
We have nurtured leaders in our community and continue to be very involved in supporting our missionaries in the field.
